Select the proper thermocouple for the temperature range and accuracy required using the table below. Use
care in hostile environments especially at very high temperatures. Some thermocouples are durable only in
certain atmospheres. They may fail very quickly in another type of atmosphere. In hostile environments,
the thermocouple is usually placed in a sheath or thermowell.
